React Job: Software Architect Analytics Tooling

Introduction to the job

OMAT is an ASML application that assists customers and service engineers in analyzing complex data which is collected in the semiconductor manufacturing process. The application can correlate large amounts of data from a variety of systems, collected over time. These systems are located in large semiconductor manufacturing factories (‘fabs’) with an inventory of equipment that has a total value of billions of Euros.
The data are mostly related to ASML’s wafer processing equipment (scanners) and help us to improve key KPIs of our equipment and analyze process issues. OMAT provides functionality that is trusted by both customers and ASML engineers. It has hundreds of users worldwide.
The current implementation of OMAT runs on PCs and is developed in Delphi and Matlab. In the course of 2022-2024 the current implementation will move to a Java/ReactJS implementation running on a server that is based on a cloud-like software stack for data ingestion, data linking, processing and visualization. During this process, new features will continue to be developed on the current implementation.
You will be working alongside the current software architect. You will assume responsibility for the design of new features on the current implementation (Delphi/Matlab based). Eventually, as the new implementation supersedes it, you will contribute more and more to the new implementation.

Software Architecture (80%)

• Collect and prioritize requirements from several internal stakeholders within ASML. Work closely with the Product Owner and Marketing.
• Translate the requirements into a software design and a Work Breakdown with transparent effort estimates. You will work with several requestors from different locations in ASML.
• Create and align a technical roadmap for the implementation of new features. Balancing technical debt, customer needs, cost and uniformity with the new platform.
• Work with the development team to guide implementation and system test.

Team planning and execution (15%)

• Contribute to the OMAT application roadmap
• Ensure budgets are clear and in line with the roadmap
• Technically manage an agreed backlog of work packages, based on the roadmap
• Participate in the relevant Agile/Scrum rituals

Education
BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Development or Software Engineering, and/or good experience in software architecting.

Experience
7 Years or more in software development, in every phase of the software development life cycle. Proven experience in successfully driving architectural changes in mid to large size projects, preferably in industrial applications. Extensive working experience with Delphi based applications.
Knowledge of the architectural aspects of Java is appreciated.
Experience in the semiconductor industry is a pre.
Fluent in English
